Förvaltningen bör ske på ett sådant sätt att den nuvarande industrimiljön bevaras så orörd som möjligt. Byggnader, anläggningar och inventarier bör sålunda underhållas så att anläggningen som helhet kan drivas under längre eller kortare perioder. De bör också i den mån detta är praktiskt möjligt, hållas tillgängliga för allmänheten, då någon dylik industrimiljö knappast kan återfinnas någon annorstädes.
